If you want to turn-on and turn-off app icon badges for specific apps. Then follow these steps:
To begin, open the Settings app and move to the Apps & Notifications.
Now, click on the Notifications>Notifications.
Then, click on the app on which you want to turn-on and turn-off the notifications.
The app’s alert messages screen will provide its own allow icon badge switch. For that specific app, you can enable or disable the app icon badge.
However, if you want this feature then it is not automatically added to your Android O. And, if you want to turn-on and turn-off the icon badges then go to the Settings app. Also, if you turn-on them it does not mean the badges will pop-up on your home screen. Apps, more clearly, app developers will add to hold for this new feature. Also, You will receive a notification for the app update here. Keep in mind, Android O is still in beta. Also, we don’t know about its official name currently. Therefore, they have not any apps that hold for badges at present.
But, some apps are able to figure out a way around this. In case, the Facebook Messenger app with its floating app icon on the home screen. Also, many other apps now looking for that access.
